The Tagins are known as a warrior community for their indomitable courage, straightforwardness and their skills of weaponry. They are very good at hunting with bows called Iri and arrows called Opok. Other weapons include a type of sword called Rokse. The social importance of hunting gets reflected in the way they decorate their traditional kitchen walls with skulls of takin and deer, Teeth of the Gour, horns of the fallen prey etc.
Archery is a popular sport of the Tagins. Protective gears include takin hides which are used as lakbung (armour) worn on the back and the four arms. Traditionally men wear ornaments as part of their hunting garb.The Tagins are experts in making bamboo traps for catching smaller animals and birds.
